Deacons Ministry ▼

Deacons assist the Pastor in serving the needs of the church family, providing guidance, hope and comfort to members. They ensure that, upon request, GSJ members are visited and prayed for during times of hospitalization.

Bible Study: Saturday before 1st Sunday at 9am

Minister's Wives & Deaconess Ministry ▼

The members of the Minister's Wives and Deaconess serve as positive role models to the women of the church. Their responsibilities include assisting with the observance of church ordinances i.e. baptism, and the Lord's Supper. They also assist with baby dedications.

Trustees Ministry ▼

The Trustees are responsible for overseeing the upkeep of the church property to include building maintenance, improvements and renovations.

Senior Nurses Ministry ▼

The Senior Nurses is a ministry that provides limited medical treatment to GSJ members and guests, and assist the Pastor and members with physical needs and amenities during all services.

Transportation Ministry ▼

Assist in providing safe, timely transportation to Sunday services and other events (service limited to immediate area). To request a ride, call 232-6700 by 4:00 PM on Friday.

Greeters Ministry ▼

The mission of the Greeters Ministry is to provide a warm and friendly welcome to visitors and members who attend our church services and to direct them to the various areas of the church.

God’s Jewel ▼

The mission of God’s Jewel “is to develop servant leadership skills, through activities that guide
them in problem solving, self-awareness, respect for self and others. We strive to produce Christian
leaders who make a difference in their church, home, school, and community.”

Praise Dancer Ministry ▼

The Praise Dancer Ministry's purpose is to praise and worship the Lord through dance. They use visually powerful art forms of creative dance to bring forth the Word of God.

Junior Ushers Ministry ▼

The Junior Ushers includes youth ages 9-17. Just like the Senior Ushers, they promote order among the congregation by helping members and guests find seating, assist with dispersal of printed material and help to facilitate the order of worship. This ministry helps the youth to grow in Christ as they inspire other young people to serve.

Boy Scouts ▼

The Boy Scouts seeks to cultivate Christian character in young men ages 6 -17. The primary purpose of this ministry is to model and develop leadership skills in the community, church, school, and household. The key principles of the Boy Scouts are God first, education, and obedience to parents. Reaches out to young boys, educating them in the area of scouting; promotes Christian values and character, goal setting, and community service; offers periodic field trips and other special events.

Drill Team Ministry ▼

The GSJ Drill Team includes youth who perform drill movements as they step for Christ as a witness to everyone who sees it. This ministry performs not only at our church, but at local community events and at our National Convention. The primary goal of the Drill Team is to inspire youth to:

Come to Christ.
Study God’s word (2 Timothy 2:15)
Lean on and trust in the Lord (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Mime Ministry ▼

Ministering Mime is telling a story through expressive gestures and movement. It is creative worship that conveys God’s grace. The purpose is not to entertain, but to minister to someone’s spirit or very soul. To truly minister, the mime must first surrender and submit to God to be used for His glory. God’s glory is revealed as the mime touches the heart of the audience to see, feel, and know that God is real!

Goal: To cheerfully testify the gospel and the grace of God through sign, body language, praise and worship, while exemplifying Christ at all times.

Mission: To win souls for the Kingdom of God, to give hope and healing through ministering in mime.

Multi-Media Ministry ▼

Our multimedia ministry is comprised of audio, video, graphic, computer, and web technology systems. Our mission is to bring the Gospel to our fellow members and others using the latest in multimedia technology (audio, video, and web).

Brotherhood Ministry ▼

The Brotherhood is a ministry designed to equip men of the church with the tools needed to live a Christian life and to use their talents to the glory of God while leading the lost to Christ. They also are dedicated to mentoring our male youth.

Prison Outreach Ministry (Brotherhood Ministry Part) ▼

The chief purpose of the Prison Ministry is to visit prisons and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through preaching, teaching, singing, and sharing of testimonies. Through the Spirit of God, this ministry brings hope and encouragement to those who are without hope and provides intercessory prayer with the incarcerated.

Missionary Society ▼

The goals of the Missionary Society are: to serve the Lord Jesus, through the service they render to humanity; to foster good homes and Christian education; and to support Home and Foreign Missions.

Feed the Need Pantry (Missionary Society Part) ▼

The Feed the Need Pantry is not only to provide food (for families in need) for the body, but our mission is to also spiritually feed the soul. Greater St. John MBC will provide food, informational literature, spiritual readings, as well as provide other assistance as deemed necessary for the community.

Sunday School ▼

The Sunday School serves as one of the teaching arms of the church. Our primary goal is to lead children, youth and adults through biblical instruction to receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

Baptist Training Union ▼

The Baptist Training Union is an essential part of the training ministry of our church. The goal is to teach members the foundational doctrines of the Baptist faith.

New Member Training ▼

The purpose of the New Member Training is to provide information about church history, policy, practices and ordinances;

I. To assure that new members understand the meaning of conversion and a covenant relationship with other believers;

II. To help new members become a growing participant in the life and ministry of the church. A portion of the structured, eight-week program is offered each Sunday, except the fifth (5th) Sunday.

Wednesday in the Word (Bible Study) ▼

The Wednesday Evening Bible Class offers an in-depth live streamed online study of the Word of God. Lessons are guided by our Pastor and students are able to interact online.
